Here is what colleagues have said about me on Linked In.
Craig Zumbrun, Executive Director, York Housing Authority
I have had the opportunity to work directly with Stephen Scanlon in a number of roles during the past decade. Stephen was an ardent volunteer member of the South Central Assembly with a keen interest in local governmental effectiveness and in housing matters. Stephen is a detailed oriented researcher and editor and directly participated in the successful development of long range housing plans and goals for both Adams County and Perry County under the Assembly. For the past six years, Stephen has tirelessly provided on-going administrative support to the operations of this eight-county good governance board. Stephen also worked with me at the York Housing Development Corporation through the Delphia Management Company tackling a very difficult single room occupancy development that had long been neglected prior to his employment. Wading through years of unattended documentation and accounts, Stephen brought this mixed use historic property back into full tax credit compliance with up to date leases and completed payment histories. Stephen has wide ranging interests in theatre arts, cultural events, and support and advocacy services to persons with disabilit1es.

Michael Swanson,
Associate Professor of Theatre; Director of Theatre and Dance at Elizabethtown College
For most of my six years in the Lancaster area, Stephen Scanlon has been one of the only people taking action to bring together people in the theatrical community of south central Pennsylvania (the counties in the vicinity of Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York). He did so – as a volunteer -- by organizing TheaterHub, through which he solicited season and contact information from all of the region’s school, college, and community theatres – and published listings of those plays twice annually. This service was invaluable for theatre professionals and students of theatre in the area who want to see plays they may not know at theatres close by. This service and its “companion,” Stephen’s South Central PA Audition Board Facebook page, were designed to inspire those of us in this area to build our arts community in this area. His efforts in this area were innovative, and the amount of work he put into this testifies to his devotion to the arts as a community builder, as well as his ability to persist with a project over a number of years. Stephen impresses me as both a thinker and a doer. The employer who hires him will learn that these qualities, among others, will make him a valuable employee.
Skip Brown, Principal, ConnectSynergy
Stephen and I have worked together at the all volunteer Measuring Success CONSORTIUM. Stephen pursues success for agencies and programs with an eye toward perfection. Realizing that achieving perfection is difficult, Stephen respectfully engages in dialogue and recognizes the value of all voices being heard. What I like most is Stephen’s use of the tools and models of applied strategic alignment. If you seek someone to help you keep on track and stay focused on success, Stephen would be a great asset to your organization.
Barry Nazar, Senior Research Associate, Assistant Professor at Temple University
Stephen Scanlon is a highly competent person with insatiable curiosity and the mental endurance to pursue challenges to extra ordinary ends. He is creative, thoughtful, generous, dedicated, and personable. I have always found Stephen to uphold the highest ethical standards in work and in personal relationships. Despite his powers of focus and concentration, Stephen is also very much a team player and exhibits leadership for rallying to a cause, high purpose, and high standards. I regard him as a friend and take inspiration from him as a colleague.
Janetta Green, Director of Operations at Center for Independent Living of Central PA
Stephen is a great asset to our organization. He keeps me focused on projects and I appreciate that he challenges me to look at things from a different perspective. He can effectively indicate areas of strengths and does not hesitate to indicate where we can improve but also provides suggestions on how we can go about improving. He is always honest with you and gives you 110%!
He brings a uniqueness to our non profit that any non profit should have. There is always something new to learn, to evaluate and to report outcomes on!
Stephen has helped me to be a better manager, has introduced me to Outcomes Logic Model, and makes me smile.
